Providing Educational and Financial Support To Students from Disadvantaged Communities
ASSET (the Association for Educational Transformation) is situated in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is a non-profit NGO which aims to provide opportunities for students from disadvantaged communities to realise their full educational potential, and to contribute to the process of educational transformation in South Africa.
Programmes
There are two core programmes:
1. The Bursary Programme (established in 1972)
2. The Learner Development Programme (established in 1982)
Both programmes were previously run under the auspices of the Cape Western Region of the SA Institute of Race Relations but gained independence in 2003 under ASSET.
